Introduction

The purpose of the Teacher Guidebook for Virtual Learning is to support staff in implementing curriculum and instruction via an online format. This learning is necessary in order to follow the state guidelines in the MI Safe Schools: Return to School Roadmap.

Although it may be necessary to continue school in a virtual format, we can continue to offer Plymouth- Canton Community Schools’ students an engaging, comprehensive educational experience. Transitioning the current curriculum into an online format is new for most of our teachers. We understand the amount of time it takes to learn new platforms, transition teaching practices, and shift planning practices. The Teaching and Learning Department is dedicated to supporting you in this work.

We would like to thank the dedicated teachers of Plymouth-Canton Community Schools for their commitment to our students and families as we adjust to a new format for instruction. They have shown the needs of our students comes first.

This guidebook will provide you essential information regarding expectations for virtual learning and resources to implement the learning. Additionally, information regarding the possible transition between face-to-face and virtual learning will be addressed. If you require guidance, support, ideas for implementation, or thinking partners, please reach out to the Curriculum Coordinators, Technology Integration Specialists, Instructional Coaches, or a member of the Teaching and Learning Team. We are here to help you be successful.

Sincerely,

The P-CCS Teaching and Learning Team
