Dear P-CCS Students and Parents,

I have some great news I’m excited to share with you. Canton High School, Plymouth High School and Salem High School are in the Top 50 best high schools in Michigan and the top 5% of all public high schools in the United States, according to the latest U.S. News and World Report rankings released in April. Plymouth is ranked 26th in Michigan, Salem HS is 29th and Canton HS is 31st. The rankings surveyed more than 1,100 high schools in Michigan and 25,000 nationwide.

This recognition is something we should all be proud of. I am very grateful to our amazing teachers, staff and administrators for the tremendous work they do to provide our students with a world-class education that helps them learn, prepare and thrive. Thank you to our students for working hard in the classroom and beyond every day. I am also truly thankful for our supportive families and our many amazing community partners.

Together, you have embraced our shared goal of helping P-CCS provide a safe, welcoming and nurturing learning environment where every student has the opportunity to find their passions and excel. Through our collaborative efforts, we are helping our students prepare for the careers of today and tomorrow, including jobs that may not exist yet.

At P-CCS, we provide a rigorous, well-rounded and world-class education that serves the needs of the whole child. As a large district of more than 16,000 students, we pride ourselves on providing personalized attention and care for all our students, making the big feel small and creating a closeness of community that is truly special. Our achievements are the result of this commitment to helping every student find what they love and guiding them on a path toward success.

While we are proud of this well-earned recognition, we are not resting on our laurels. We plan to build upon our track record of success and excellence to reach even higher!

Yours in Learning,

Dr. Monica L. Merritt
