  • PUBLIC NOTICE - Sex Ed Advisory Committee (SEAC) Meeting
    • There will be a meeting of the P-CCS Sex Ed Advisory Committee on November 30, 2023 from 4:30 - 5:30 PM at 14967 Pilot Drive, Plymouth, MI 48170.

      Purpose: Review of Middle School and High School Reproductive Health Curricular Resources

      According to Michigan Law, all school districts must conduct two public hearings on any additions or revisions of reproductive health curriculum or materials and have Board of Education approval before implementation. Next steps will follow the P-CCS Board of Education processes for adoption of curricular resources.

The role of the Curriculum and Instruction Department is to support staff in the development and implementation of quality curriculum and the most effective instructional practices. Curriculum & Instruction is committed to acting responsively to the needs of teachers and students to ensure all students have equitable access to instructional programs that maximize their potential.

The Curriculum and Instruction Department supports teachers and schools through efforts such as the following:

  • With teachers, develops and implements curriculum

  • Develops and models instructional strategies and resources that model differentiated instruction responsive to individual student learning needs; 

  • Develops instructional tools that foster critical thinking, collaboration, effective communication, and creativity for students; 

  • Designs and facilitates professional learning opportunities 

  • Provides ongoing support of teaching and learning through instructional coaching.
